Tidal Lands
Mixed medium, glass mosaic paintings are abstract impressions of coastlines in America. The mosaic ocean glass was collected off the beaches in Okinawa, Japan where Victoria lived for 3 years. Some of the glass is believed to be from WWII. She is a native Californian who lived in Cal State Parks as a child. Her appreciation and respect for nature is represented in the series. Victoria's intention is to bring awareness to the erosion of natural coastlines. The canvasas are high in texture and rich in color to resemble the topography and beauty of coastlines and rivers.
